But it’s not only a feeling. Today we will show you have to leverage those abilities. Once you are clear on your strengths, it’s time to showcase them to your advantage. The perfect spot for that is in the “Competencies” part of your resume. But don’t stop there. You must also present how these abilities are used to attain excellent ends in your “Experience” part. You’ll doubtless want to sprinkle these into your cover letter, as wellâ€"specializing in the strengths the employer is specifically looking for that you possess. And of course, your strengths will be the foundation for most of your sturdy success stories you inform in your interviews. But your superpowers won't only be used in the content area… As I work with clients they usually home in on their strengths, it’s always amazing once they realize how their specific ability set m ay help them within the “course of” of getting a better jobâ€"whether or not that's inside their current group or an out of doors job. You may be taking a look at a lateral moveâ€"similar to shifting to a job that is better aligned along with your skillsâ€"or a promotion to a position that leverages your leadership abilities. For example, I had one shopper who learned she was nice at research and organization. “How will your research and organizational talents assist with your job search?” I asked. Her eyes lit up when she noticed how having the ability to research jobs and companiesâ€"and hold all that data organized and accessibleâ€"can be important to her search success! Another shopper who was in gross sales leadership, was excited to notice how his abilities in explaining features and advantages, having a customer-focus and being persuasive was going to assist him in creating his advertising supplies, conduct informational meetings and ace job interviews! And, if commun ication abilities are your forte…You may have the chance to demonstrate them in virtually each step of the job search process. Knowing, exhibiting and utilizing your superpowers are as critical to the job search as it's to your day job. You don’t want superior claws like Wolverine or X-ray imaginative and prescient like Supergirl to be able to be successful in your profession growth.
